TSView Time Series Viewing Tools <br /> Appendix - TSView - 9 <br />Time Series Properties – Period <br /> <br /> TSView_TSProps_Period <br />Time Series Properties - Period <br /> <br />Properties related to the period are as follows: <br /> <br />Current <br />(reflects <br />manipulation) <br />The current period is used to allocate computer memory for the time series data. This <br />period may be set by an application (e.g., when creating model input files a specific <br />period may be used). The precision of the date/time objects should generally be <br />consistent with the time series data int erval. <br /> <br />Original (from <br />input) <br />The original period can be used to indicate the full period available from a database. <br />Setting the original period can sometimes be complicated by how missing data are <br />handled (e.g., a database or file may indicate a certa in period but a much shorter period <br />is actually available). <br /> <br />Total Points Total number of data points . If a regular time series, this i s computed from the period. <br />If an irregular time series, the number of points is t he c ount of all data values. The data <br />points may include missing data – see the data limits for additional information. <br />163
