Ditch company personnel indicated an augmentation well is included in the pending Water Court
application to amend the augmentation plan. The specific augmentation well could not be
identified in review of HydroBase associations and water rights, as summarized in Table 4.
Table 4
Fort Mor an Canal Au mentation Plan Au mentation Well/Rechar a Well Water Rights
11ID
W U Su 1
e se Amount Admin. No. A .Date
Various Augmentation Various
Augmentation Plan Operations
Operating rules to replace river depletions from well pumping include the following in order of
use:
1. Well depletions (stored under plan ID 0102528) should be replaced year-round by natural
flows when in priority, i.e., when no downstream call or when downstream call is junior to
common priority date of June 7, 1969 (admin. no. 43622.0) used for wells in Fort Morgan
augmentation plan.
2. Well depletions (stored under plan ID 0102528) should be replaced year-round with available
recharge accretions from canal seepage (stored under plan ID 0102528_P1C) and recharge
seepage (stored under plan ID 0102528_P1R).
3. Remaining irrigation season well depletions should be replaced with a bypass of a portion of
the Fort Morgan Canal direct flow water right. Operation of a bypass requires maintenance of
historical return flows, which should be added to the well depletion Plan structure demand
(ID 0102528).
4. Remaining well depletions year-round should be replaced with Jackson Lake storage releases
from Fort Morgan R&I Co. account. Credits in the river are based on a decreed factor of 42
percent credit in the river (i.e., 10 cfs Jackson Lake storage release provides 4.2 cfs river
credit). Note the canal company has never released water from Jackson Lake to receive direct
credit in the river.
5. Remaining well depletions year-round should be met with augmentation well pumping when
the augmentation wells are in priority.
A-57 ofA-106
