5.0 Results
5.1 StateCU Model Result Presentation
The Rio Grande Basin historic crop consumptive use results are a product of the input
files described in Section 4. This section provides a summary of historic Crop
consumptive use, ground water pumping estimates, and system efficiencies. Results for
individual key, aggregated, and ground water only structures can be easily viewed and
printed by obtaining the StateCU input files and model from the CDSS web site (see
Section 3.5).
Tables 15a and 15b show the average annual basin consumptive use water budget
accounting for the period 1950 through 2002. The individual component results are
discussed in detail in the following sections.
Table 15a
Basin Average Annual Results 1950 through 2002 (acre-feet)
Surface Water Diversion Accounting
Irrigation River Surface Water Diversion To: Calculated
Water
Required Headgate
Diversion Conv
Loss Diversion
to Farm CU Soil Non-
Consumed Application
Efficiency
1,118,383 1,077,400 341,119 742,827 344,923 50,095 347,810 53
Table 15b
Basin Average Annual Results 1950 through 2002 (acre-feet) -Continued
Ground Water Diversion Accounting Estimated Crop C U
Diversion
(Pum in) Application
Efficienc To CU Non-
Consumed From SW
and GW From
Soil Total Total Non-
Consumed
542,947 67 % 364,571 178,375 709,493 49,552 759,045 526,184
cureport_6-2004.doc 35 of 48 June, 2004
