4.9 Climate Station Information File (rg2004.c1i)
The climate station information file provides climate station location information for
climate stations used in the analysis, including latitude, elevation, county and HUC.
Table 11, in the next section, lists the climate stations included in the climate station
information file. The climate station information file was created using StateDMI to
extract location information stored in HydroBase based on the list of climate stations to
be used in the analysis.
4.10 Climate Data Files (rgtemp.stm, rgppt.stm, rgfd.stm)
StateCU requires historical time series data, in calendar year, for temperature, frost dates,
and precipitation. The RGDSS climate data files, developed using the TSTooI DMI,
contain monthly data for nine stations. Table 11 summarizes the 1950 through 2002
average annual temperature, frost dates and precipitation for each station.

Figures 10 and 11 show the 1950 through 2002 average monthly precipitation and
temperature for the Center 4 SSW climate station, located in the center of the San Luis
Valley floor. Historic missing data for these climate stations were filled from 1950
through 2002 using the TSTooI DMI , as described in the Rio Grande Historic Crop
Consumptive Use -Climate Data memorandum, included in Appendix D.
