L <br />l'A.....c;. <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Udall: <br /> <br />Proposal for Firming the Federal <br />Hydroelectric Plants Serving Preference Customers <br />in the Eastern Division-Missouri River Basin Project <br /> <br />The parties making this Proposal, namely those whose names are subscribed <br /> <br />hereto, are hereinafter for convenience called the Firming Thermal Systems. <br /> <br />Factual Understanding <br /> <br />This Proposal relates to eight hydroelectric generating plants of the <br /> <br />United States on the Upper Missour1., River and its tributaries known as Fort <br /> <br />Peck, Garrison, Oalle, Big Bend, Fort Randall, Gavins 'Point, Canyon Ferry, <br /> <br />and Yellow Tail. <br /> <br />According to available data, the aggregate name plate rating of the <br /> <br />hydroelectric generating plants, upon completion, will be as follows: Fort <br /> <br />Peck'~ 165,000 kw, Garrison - 400,000 kw, Oahe - 595,000 kw, Big.Bend <br />468,000kw, Fort Randall - 320,000 kw, Gavins Point - 100;000 kw, Canyon <br />Ferry - 50,000 kW, and Yellow Tail - 200,000 kw. <br /> <br />Available data supplied by the United States Corps of Eng:lneers and <br /> <br />Bureau of Reclamation indicate that, upon completion, the eight generating <br /> <br />plants will have an aggregate firm peaking capability of 1,850,000 kw assigned <br /> <br /> <br />to the Eastern Division-Missouri Basin Project for supplying the requirements <br /> <br />of Preference Customers of the United States, but because of the possibilities <br />
