These new tool. or <br />modulee should be PC.based with reaeonably priced eoftwear 80 ite accessible to <br />all vater users. Input and output ehould be both tal:n11ar and graphical and <br />utilise the map viewing capabilitiee of GIS. <br /> <br />The following tasks or objectives would be coordinated and managed by the <br />South Platte Advieory Committee with the lead inveetigator being Luie Garcia of <br />.the Integrated Dedeion Support Group (IDS) of CSO. <br /> <br />The databaeee to be developed .. map layere in a GIS "'Yet_ for the South <br />Platte would conelst of: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />.--Prom ABCS aerial photoe and eatallita imagery; <br />(1) Layout of fields <br />(2) Irrigated acreage <br />(3) Crop type <br />(t) Canal ayetem layout (ie, ditch laterals, tailwater ponds, recharge eites, <br />. etc) <br /> <br />. -Prom SKO and augmentation plans (GASP, CCWCD, LSPWCD, and individual plans).; <br />(5) Well locations <br />These agencies databases would a180 provide information on irrigated acreage, <br />crop type, type of irrigation, and estimates of historical gross Well pumpage. <br /> <br />--From county land ownership map.; <br />(6) Landowner property t>oun&ries <br />A relational database of landowner information would link to the well <br />.information database and contain other information such as ditch shares. <br /> <br />--Prom USGS, Hurr maps and quad sheets; <br />(7) Bedrock elevations <br />(8) Water table elevations <br />(9) Ground surface elevations <br />(10) Permeability or transmissivity <br />(11) SOP values <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Combining these databases with historical diversion data contained in the <br />point flow module of the SPWRMS, a water balance computation within GIS of the <br />consumptive use -(cell of groundwater by wells could be accOlllplished. Data from <br />weather stations combined with irrigated acreage and crop type would provide a <br />cOlllp\ltation of total crop consUlllptive use through a CO module.
