Water Qualitv Standards for Salinitv. Colorado River Svstem, and is requesting comments from <br /> <br /> <br />interested agencies and members of the public. The Forum is an interstate organization created by the <br /> <br /> <br />seven Colorado River Basin states and composed of gubernatorial appointees with water resource and <br /> <br /> <br />water quality expertise from California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming. <br /> <br /> <br />The Colorado Waler Conservation Board represents the State of Colorado on the Forum. Water quality <br /> <br /> <br />standards for salinity control in the Colorado River Basin have been developed and adopted by each of. <br /> <br /> <br />the seven Basin states, and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency. The 1999 Review was <br /> <br /> <br />prepared by in compliance with the federal Clean Water Act, which requires that water quality standards <br /> <br /> <br />and plans be reviewed at least every three years. <br /> <br />Copies orthe report may be obtained from the Colorado Water Conservation Board, the Forum, <br />or may be viewed and downloaded from the following Internet website: <br />http://www.nr.state.ut.us/WTRRESC/1999rev.pdf. After receipt of comments the Fornm will issue a <br />Supplemental Report responding to comments and providing additional information as may be necessary. <br />The Supplemental Report will be available in November 1999 from the same sources. <br /> <br />As part of the review process public meetings will be held in Los Angeles California., and <br />Lymon, Wyoming,to receive comments and recommendations concerning 1999 Review. The public <br />meetings are scheduled on August 23, 1999 at 1 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel located at 6101 W. Century <br />Blvd. In Los Angeles. California and on August 24 at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall in Lyman, Wyoming. <br />According to Jack A. Barnett, Executive Director of the Forum, interested persons are encouraged to <br />submit written statements prior to the meetings. Oral comments. preferably accompanied by a written <br />statement, may be presented at the meetings. Persons unable to attend the public meetings may submit <br />written comments to the Forum either through the Colorado Water Conservation Board (1313 Sherman <br />SI.
