No.. 140 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 state Cent~nnial Building <br />1313 She~an street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />Hay 18, 1979 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance study, City <br />of Glenwood Springs, Colorado," \qhich includes floodplain information <br />and data for the Colorado River, dated January, 1979, has been <br />prepared by Gingery Associates, tnc., under contract with the <br />Federal Insurance Administration: and <br /> <br />NHEREAS, said report d~scribes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the sto~m and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Glenwood Springs has requested the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Boar~ to designate arid approve the <br />floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />>-1HEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised statutes <br />1973, requires the ColoradoWate~ Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flo~d damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses <br />on or along any storm or floodwater'runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Watereonservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins and to make such designations available to legislative <br />bodies of local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />~rnEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br /> <br />\ <br />I <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Grand Junction, <br />Colorado, this 18th day of May, 1979, that it does hereby designate <br />and approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being <br />inundated by a 100-year flood as described by the floodwater <br />surface elevations and profiles in said report; and <br />
