(3) rural areas in semiarid regions whe-re <br />the upstream drainagp basin eHeeds 2.50 square miles. and (4) smaller drainage basin.<;;. <br />depending on topography and potential use of the flood plains. <br />The K9th Congress. in House Document 4115. recommend€'d the preparation of flood.prone <br />area maps to assi"t in minimizing flood IOHs('s by quickly identifying the areaA of potential <br />Oood hazards.
