WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood
Hazard Area Delineation, Harvard Gulch, West Harvard Gulch, and
Dry Gulch, n dated December, 1979, has been prepared by Gingery
Associates, Inc., at the request of the Urban Drainage and Flood
Control District, the city and County of Denver, and Arapahoe
County; and

WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain
data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels
or basins of the study area; and

WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and FloOd Control District
has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate
and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid
report; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in
the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris-
dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along
any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designa-
tion and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, directs ~e Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and
approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make
such designations available to legislative bodies of local juriSdic-
tions; and

WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report
and does hereby re~ommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Boa~d
that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas thOse areas
inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as
described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said
report;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water
Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado,
thi~ 30th day of January, 1980, that it does hereby designate and
approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated
by a 100-year flood as set forth in said report; and
