<br /><:>- <br />".':~ ) <br /> <br />~ <br />'~ -:--.: <br />Floodplain Resolution No. 90 <br /> <br />-OW ,f <br /> <br />') <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, colorado 80203 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />November 15, 1977 <br /> <br />R E ~ 0 L U T ~ 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a flOOdplain information report entitled "Flood <br />''<",I''':'' Insurance Study, city of Alamosa, colorado," which includes Rio <br />Grande with an effective date of September 15, 1977, has been pre- <br />pared by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque <br />District, under contract with the Federal Insurance Administration; <br />. <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />~~REAS, the city of Alamosa has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the flOOdplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes., <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br />, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23~201 and 30~28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris- <br />dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on'or'along any <br />storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation <br />.~. and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br />.... <br />," <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water conservation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make <br />such designations available to legislative bodies of locaLj.urisdic-~_.._. <br />t1-on-s-;~and- <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and dOes hereby recommend to the colorado Water Conservation BOard <br />that the Board designate and approve as flOOdplain areas those areas <br />inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as <br />described by the floodwater surface elevations and prOfiles in said <br />report; <br />
