No. 123 <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />November 1, 1978 <br /> <br />R E S 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the united States Army Corps of Engineers, <br />Omaha District, completed in October, 1968, a floodplain informa- <br />tion report entitled "Flood Plain Information, Volume IV, Denver <br />Metropolitan Region, Colorado," which includes Little Dry Creek <br />(Adams County); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado water Conservation Board, as <br />requested by the Denver Regional Council of Governments, by reso- <br />lution adopted May 7, 1969, approved and designated the floodplains <br />described in said report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a pew report entitled "Flood Hazard Area <br />Delineation, Little Dry Creek, Jefferson County, city of Arvada, <br />city of westminster, and Adams County, Colorado," dated June, 1978, <br />has been prepared by Merrick and Company at the request of the Urban <br />Drainage and Flood Control District, which report updates and revises <br />the previous information fOr Little Dry Creek (Adams County) as pre- <br />pared by the Corps of Engineers, Omaha District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District <br />has requested the Colorado Water COnservation Board to designate <br />and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water COnservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of lOcal <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel Or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the colorado Water Conservation Board; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions; and <br />
