I Q N WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood Hazard Identification Report, Fraser River and Tenmile Creek, Granby, Colorado," which includes detailed floodplain information for the Fraser River and Tenmile Creek, dated February. 1987, has been prepared by the Colorado Wa ter Conservation Board at the request of the Town of Granby; and WHEREAS. said report describes and floodplain information for the storm and ,channels or basins of the study area; and outlines detailed floodwater runoff WHEREAS, the Town of Granby has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and . , , . '..). ;, WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1){c), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and f100d,damages therefrom; and WHEREAS. Sections 31-23-301 and 30~28-111. Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local juriSdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along .any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c). Colorado Revised Statutes, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of local juriSdictions; and WHEREAS. the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said report; 5102E
