No. 122 <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />November 1, 1978 <br /> <br />R E Q 0 L U T L 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the united States Army Corps of Engineers, <br />Omaha District, completed in October, 1971, a floodplain information <br />report entitled "Plood Plain Information, Volume VI, Denver Metro- <br />politan Region, Colorado," which includes Dutch Creek, Lilley Gulch, <br />and Coon Creek; and . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the ColOrado Water Conservation Board, as requested <br />by the Denver Regional Council of Governments, by resolution adopted <br />December 15, 1971, approved and designated the floOdplains described <br />in said report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new report entitled "Plood Hazard Area <br />Delineation, Dutch Creek, Lilley Gulch, Coon Creek, & Three Lakes <br />Tributary, Jefferson County, Arapahoe County, Town of columbine <br />Valley, and city and County of Denver, Colorado," dated May, 1978, <br />has been prepared by URS Company, at the request of the Urban <br />Drainage and Flood Control District, which report updates and revises <br />the previous information for Dutch Creek, Lilley Gulch, and Coon <br />Creek as prepared by the corps of Engineers, Omaha District; and <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District <br />has requested the ColoradO Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised statutes <br />1973, requires the coloradO Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections.3l-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the ColoradO Water Conservation Board; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), ColoradO Revised statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make <br />such designations available to legislative bodies of local juris- <br />dictions; and <br />
