Colorado 80012
303/695-7370

Sara Duncan, Acting Director
Colorado Water Conservation Board
721 State Centennial Building
1313 Sherman St.
Denver, CO 80203

SUBJECT: Designation and Approval of the Flood Insurance Study for
Aurora, Colorado Dated September 30, 1992

Dear Ms. Ouncan:

This is in response to your letter of May 5, 1992 wherein you
stated that the current Flood Insurance Study for the City of
Aurora dated September 15, 1989 has not been designated by the
C.W.C.B. We desire to comply with the state statutes governing
designation of flood plain information and therefore, we would like
to up-date you on the latest flood plain actions that have occurred
in Aurora.

In May, 1991 the Federal Emergency Management Agency undertook the
task of revising the Flood Insurance Rate Maps covering the City of
Aurora, due to the many annexations and Letters of Map Revisions
undertaken by the City. On January 6, 1992, F.E.M.A. published a
notice in the Aurora Sentinel of the 90-day appeal period for the
revised F.I.R.M. and Flood Insurance Study. On May 4, 1992 we
received a letter from F.E.M.A. stating that the appeal period had
passed without comments, and that the new Flood Insurance Study
will become effective on September 30, 1992. We have enclosed a
copy of this letter for your information.

In light of this new F.I.S. becoming effective on September 30,
1992 we ask that you approve and designate it. The F.I.R.M. panels
affected are:

00200, 0040D,
00450, 0080D,
00850, 0095D,
0105D, 0110D,
0115D, 0125D

With regards to your letter stating that the current effective
F.I.S. and F.I.R.M. dated September 15, 1989 are not designated, we
ask that you give us guidance concerning your designation requirements,
