<br />FPR 280 <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />May 15, 1987 <br /> <br />R ~ 2 Q ~ ~ T ~ Q N <br /> <br />WHEREAS. a floodplain information report entitled <br />Hazard Identification Report, Crystal Creek and Dirty <br />Creek, Monument, Colorado." dated February, 1987, has <br />prepared by the Colorado Water Conservation Board at <br />request of the Town of Monument; and <br /> <br />"Flood <br />Woman <br />been <br />the <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff <br />channels or basins of Crystal Creek and Dirty Woman Creek <br />within the Town of Monument and adjacent areas of <br />unincorporated El Paso County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the Town of Monument has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the <br />floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />'I <br />, <br /> <br />WHEREAS. Section <br />Statutes, requires the <br />assist in the prevention <br />and <br /> <br />37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />of floods and flood damages therefrom; <br /> <br />WHEREAS. Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />juriSdictions may provide zoning regUlations for land uses on <br />or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c). Colorado Revised <br />Statutes. directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins and to make such designations available to legislative <br />bodies of local juriSdictions; and <br /> <br />,WHEREAS. the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas <br />those areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate <br />regional flood) as described by the floodwater surface <br />elevations and profiles in said report; <br /> <br />354lE <br />
