WHEREAS. a floodplain information report entitled
Hazard Identification Report, Crystal Creek and Dirty
Creek, Monument, Colorado." dated February, 1987, has
prepared by the Colorado Water Conservation Board at
request of the Town of Monument; and

WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain
data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff
channels or basins of Crystal Creek and Dirty Woman Creek
within the Town of Monument and adjacent areas of
unincorporated El Paso County; and

WHEREAS. the Town of Monument has requested the Colorado
Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the
floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and

or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only
after designation and approval by the Colorado Water
Conservation Board; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c). Colorado Revised
Statutes. directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to
designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or
basins and to make such designations available to legislative
bodies of local juriSdictions; and

,WHEREAS. the staff of the Board has reviewed said report
and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation
Board that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas
those areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate
regional flood) as described by the floodwater surface
elevations and profiles in said report;
