Colorado 80217 <br /> <br />March 3. 1998 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Colorado Water Steering Committee <br /> <br />~m~ <br /> <br />Committee Meeting <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />The water steering committee met at 10:30 a.m. on March 2. 1998 at the Colorado Water <br />Congress (CWC) office with Stan Cazier presiding. The purpose of the meeti1lg was to review <br />HB 1288 by Rep. Smith in order to get agreement among the committee members and others <br />present on revisions to the bill in order to go forward. <br /> <br />The section relati1lg to the organization of local SToups to carry out a needs assessment in each <br />water basin was discussed. It was ultimately agreed that a subcommittee be appointed to work <br />on language and report back next Monday. March 9. Members of the subcommittee are: Bob <br />Burr, Chainnan; Sara Duncan. Chris Treese, Steve Arveschoug and Kathleen Klein. <br /> <br />The section on mitigation was also reviewed and an agreement was reached on adding several <br />amendments. There was discussion on the sections dealing with funding and some suggestions <br />for clarification were made. <br /> <br />The water Steering committee will meet on March 9, 1998 at about 8:30 a.m. at the Colorado <br />Water Congress office. The purpose of that meeting will be to come to fmal agreement on <br />proposed amendments to the bilL There will also be discussion about the future role of the <br />water steering committee. <br /> <br />In other business, Stan Cazier was nominated and elected pennanent ehairman of the Colorado <br />Water Steering Committee. <br /> <br />Next meeting will be March 9, 1998 at 8:3!l a.rn. <br /> <br />Ibr <br />
