Ths Board Agenda Item will include: <br /> <br />. An overview of HB 05-1254 <br />. A review of the guidelines that require Board action <br /> <br />The Guidelines for the Water Efficiency Grant Program are attached, <br /> <br />Key issues that are brought to the attention of the Board related to these guidelines are as follows: <br /> <br />I, The Water Efficiency Grant Program provides monies to the CWCB from an appropriation from the Severance <br />Tax Trust Fund Reserve for $1,580,000 with $500,000 to be dispersed at the Board's discretion over each of <br />the next three fiscal years ($80,000 is reserved for CWCB administration of the Grant Program), <br />2, Funds not used in a fiscal year are allowed to roll over to the following year, <br />3, Funds must be expended by July 1, 2008, <br />4, Those eligible forreceipt of funds include: <br />a, Aid to covered entities that are trying to achieve the water efficiency (or water conservation) goals <br />specified in their locally adopted Water Conservation Plans; and <br />b, Financial support to private or public agencies whose primary pnrpose is the promotinn of water <br />resource conservation for education and outreach used to promote the benefits of water efficiency, <br /> <br />The guidelines define the procedures for the CWCB to receive, review and rank applications; and the tirnelines <br />associated with when the applications can be received and when monies will be awarded, <br /> <br />Please note that due to the short timeframe available to staff for developing the guidelines, staff may present minor <br />revisions to the attached guidelines at the July Board meeting based on comments received from selected reviewers <br />between the 12th and 19th of July, <br /> <br />Reauested Board Actions <br />The Board will be asked to approve the attached Guidelines for immediate implementation including the receipt of <br />applications and the dispersal of Grant Program monies, <br /> <br />Flood Protection.
