Forest Service Reserved Ril:hts Cases, Case Nos. 81-CW-220 et al., Water Division 2. <br /> <br />Wendy Weiss on behalf of the state parties signed the stipulation allowing the Forest Service <br />to withdraw the Division 2 claims with prejudice. Only two other objectors have yet to sign <br />similar stipulations, because of procedural delays. Dismissal should be imminent. <br /> <br />2. Forest Service Reserved Ril:hts Cases, Case Nos. W-1l46-73 et al., Water Divisioil 7. <br /> <br />The state and water users responded jointly in writing to the Forest Service's settlement <br />proposal. Our response set forth some general principles to guide future negotiations that we <br />would require in order to continue on a settlement path. We filed a Joint Status report with the <br />Court last week, essentially saying that the United States is still considering our response. <br />According to the Department ofJustice attorney working on this case, due to vacations and the <br />fires in this area he has not yet had an opportunity to get all of the required people together to <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />1 Text concerning previously reported matters will usually contain only information on recent developments rather <br />than repeating background information.
