At the January Board meeting, Steve Arveschoug of the Southeast Water Conservancy
District sought your support for the introduction of federal legislation. The legislation would
authorize the Interior Secretary to enter into contracts for the use of excess storage and
conveyance capacity in the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project, Colorado, to conduct studies for the
enlargement of Pueblo Dam and Reservoir and Sugar Loaf Dam and Turquoise Lake.

The Board supported the legislative proposal in concept, but wanted to review the bill
after it was introduced,
