The estimated total cost of the project is $388,799. Please see the attached project summary
and map.

Backaround

The Town of Akron provides domestic water to the 1,711 residents of the town, and 3out-of-city
residences. The water system serves approximately 880 taps, residential and commercial. Ten
wells feed into a 105 million gallon above ground storage tank, constructed in 1996, for treatment
and distribution. All of the Town's wells are low-producing, and the Town has difficulty keeping up
with demand during the summer months. There is no room for any population growth or additional
industry with the system as it now stands. The two new wells, the Hoyer and Thomas/Kusel wells,
will be larger than any on the Town system, and the two combined could double the water
production capabilities of the Town.

In addition, there is currently no backup power source on any of the Town's wells, and this project
will allow for the purchase of a generator to provide backup electricity to one of the Town's existing
wells. This will allow the Town to provide uninterrupted water supply in case of electrical failure.

Flood Protection. Water Supply Planning and Finance.
