<br />Colorado <br /> <br />Water Availability Task Force <br /> <br />TO: Members of the Colorado Water Availability Task Force <br /> <br />FROM: Brad Lundahl, Water Availability Task Force Chair <br /> <br />DATE: January 18, 2005 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Minutes of the Tuesday, January 18, 2005, Task Force Meeting <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at NOAA in Boulder, Colorado. Those <br />in recorded attendance included: Brad Lundahl, Jack Byers, Mike Gillespie, Klaus Wolter, <br />Bob Steger, Mitch Jelniken, Jim Weis, Doug Hawthorne, Scott Davis, Scott Archer, Todd Neff, <br />Jeanette Alberg, Jack Truby, Jeff Tranel, Aimee Rathburn, Keith Vander Horst, <br />Reagan Waskom, Andrea Ray, Jessica Lundquist, Mary Halstead, John Gordon, Nolan Doesken, <br />Treste Huse, Robert Webb, and Kathie Hepp-Lucki. <br /> <br />Brad Lundahl. Colorado Water Conservation Board. W A TF Chair <br />Mr. Lundahl called the meeting to order and began by welcoming everyone to the meeting; he <br />asked the new people to introduce themselves. The meeting began at 1:15 p.m. <br /> <br />Because of the above-average snowpack levels and the improving conditions, Mr. Lundahl <br />announced that he had decided to temporarily suspend all Impact Task Force groups with the <br />exception of the Agriculture and Wildlife Impact Task Forces. He explained that he felt this was <br />appropriate at this time, but said that if weather conditions worsen, all members would be <br />required to continue participating regularly as the Water Availability Task Force. Mr. Lundahl <br />stated that this didn't mean the drought was over, but it would be a good opportunity to scale <br />down some of the efforts that have been ongoing since April of 2002. <br /> <br />Governor's Policv Office <br />There was no report from the Governor's office at this meeting. <br /> <br />Impact Task Force Reports <br /> <br />Reagan Waskom. CSU Cooperative Extension (Agriculture) <br />Mr. Waskom commented that Agriculture was at a quiet time of year now. He reported they had <br />good planting last fall, and the wheat crop is in good shape as well as the top-soil moisture. Mr. <br />Waskom said they are waiting to see what will happen this year. He also stated that the water <br />supply this year would have a good impact on agriculture for this coming year. <br /> <br />J effrev Tranel. CSU (Agriculture) <br />Mr. Tranel reported that some of the range conditions haven't improved since 2002, and ranchers <br />have not yet rebuilt their herds. <br />
