<br />Colorado <br /> <br />Water Availability Task Force <br /> <br />TO: Members of the Colorado Water Availability Task Force <br /> <br />FROM: Brad Lundahl, Water Availability Task Force Chair <br /> <br />DATE: April 13, 2004 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Minutes of the Tuesday, April 13, 2004, Task Force Meeting <br /> <br />The meeting was held on Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at the Thornton Recreation Center in <br />Thornton, Colorado. Those in recorded attendance included: Brad Lundahl, Brett N. Rodewald, <br />Reagan Waskom, Jeff Tranel, Barry Cress, Cynthia Thayer, Treste' Huse, Joe Busto, <br />Frank Rockwell, Nancy Snyder, Joey Bunch, Jack Byers, Kristin Corash, Steven Hunter, <br />Roger Pielke, Mary Halstead, Robin Knox, Mike Gillespie, Bill Hansen, John Gordon, <br />Robert Webb, Dave Kaizer, Gary Bates, Travis Bray, John Hill, Randal Ristau, <br />Larry Lang, Anarea Ray, Jennifer Castor, Sam Davidson, Michelle Garrison, <br />Keith Vander Horst, and Kathie Hepp- Lucki. <br /> <br />Meeting began at 1:50 p.m. <br /> <br />Brad Lundahl. Colorado Water Conservation Board. W A TF Chair <br />Mr. Lundahl introduced Robert McGuire from the Governor's office to begin the meeting. Mr. <br />Lundahl then stated, that he would be sure and continue to pass the ongoing infonnation from the <br />task force members to the Governor. Mr. Lundahl also mentioned mid-way through the meeting <br />that he would be contacting task force members fairly soon and would more than likely be <br />sending a report to the Governor's office. <br /> <br />Robert McGuire. Governor's Policv Office <br />Mr. McGuire said that the Governor had asked him to convey his appreciation to the Water <br />Availability Task Force group for the work they have accomplished. He mentioned that the <br />Governor is aware of their work and believes it is very important. Mr. McGuire also stated that <br />the Picnic Rock fire began three weeks earlier than the first fire of 2002. He said that fire is just <br />one of the impacts of drought and that it is very important that this group continue to do good <br />work providing the Governor with on-going conditions and on-going assessments as well as <br />making recommendations for the proper steps to be taken to mediate all impacts of drought. <br /> <br />Jack Bvers. Deputv Director. Division of Water Resources <br />Mr. Byers was in attendance but had no report for this meeting. <br /> <br />Guest Speaker--Steven Hunter. United States Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) <br />Mr. Hunter stated that he is a Meteorologist with the USBR, and that he would be giving a <br />presentation on "Radar Precipitation Estimation, Streamflow Modeling, and Forecast <br />Techniques." Mr. Hunter explained that his main concern of this project is precipitation and <br />
