<br />Colorado <br /> <br />Water Availability Task Force <br /> <br />TO: Members of the Colorado Water Availability Task Force <br /> <br />FROM: Kathie Hepp-Lucki, Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />for Water Availability Task Force <br /> <br />DATE: March 22,2005 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Minutes of the Friday, March 18,2005, Task Force Meeting <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order Friday, March 18, 2005, at the Division of Wildlife Headquarters <br />in Denver, Colorado. Those in recorded attendance included: Jack Byers, Mike Gillespie, <br />Klaus Wolter, Greg McCabe, Chris Pacheco, Hendrik Sybrandey, Jim Weis, Jim Miller, <br />Esther Vincent, Keith Vander Horst, Toks Adeniren, Barry Cress, Mary Halstead, <br />Reagan Waskom, Jessica Lowrey, Michelle Garrison, Larry Lang, Joe Busto, Bob Steger, <br />Andrea Ray, Scott Archer, Scott Davis, Olga Erlich, Joe Lambert, Bill Hansen, Steve Hunter, <br />Nolan Doesken, Jack Truby, Jeff Tranel, Sam Davidson, Bob Glancy, and Kathie Hepp-Lucki. <br /> <br />Jack Bvers, Deputv State Engineer, DNR, W ATF Vice Chair <br />Mr. Byers welcomed everyone to the meeting and explained that Brad Lundahl was leaving state <br />service and was going into private business. He indicated that Mr. Lundahl had done a very good <br />job as Chair of the W A TF. Mr. Byers mentioned that he would be chairing the W A TF meetings <br />until someone was hired for Mr. Lundahl's position. The meeting began at 11 :00 a.m. <br /> <br />Later in the meeting Mr. Byers expressed his concerns for potential flooding in the southwest part <br />of the state where the snowpack is well above 100%. He mentioned that a high water runoff is <br />expected through Alamosa and the surrounding areas. Mr. Byers stated that it is not unusual for <br />part of the state to be a little wet, while the other parts remain dry. <br /> <br />Governor's Policv Office <br />There was no one from the Governor's office at this meeting. <br /> <br />Frank McNultv. DNR. Executive Director's Office <br />Mr. McNulty represented the Executive Director's Office at this meeting. He later commented <br />regarding the benefit of the concluded Drought and Water Supply Assessment by the Office of <br />Water Conservation and Drought Planning (Colorado Water Conservation Board) in response to a <br />question on drought preparedness. <br />
