"" " LOVELAND Utility News A NEWSLffiER FOR CITY OF LOVELAND WATER AND POWER CUSTOMERS In 1991, the Colorado General Assembly passed legislation to help lower demand for water in Colorado. The Water Conservation Act of 1991 requires water providers who supply more than 2,000 acre-feet annually to submit a water con- servation plan to the State by July 1, 1996. Love- land delivers over 10,000 acre-feet of water annually to customers .and is preparing a plan. We want your comments on the draft plan now available for a 60-day public comment period, ending April 30. You can pick up a copy of Love- land's draft water conservation plan at the Love- land Public Library or City of Loveland Service Center. If you would like a copy mailed to you, call 962-3711. Before you install an automatic sprinkler sys- tem, Loveland city code requires you to get a per- . mit and approval from Water and Power. The permit process helps keep the water supply safe for everyone in Loveland. An improperly in- stalled sprinkler system can cause water con- tamination by allowing fertilizers and pesticides to flow back into the main lines or water lines to your home. Permits and inspection are free. You can pick up a permit application at the Service Center, 200 N Wilson Avenue or request that an application be mailed to you by calling 962-3721.
