<br />Project Description
<br />The East Mancos Highline Ditch Company, located in Montezuma County (east of the Town of
<br />Mancos) is a non-profit corporation established to manage the East Mancos Highline Ditch for its
<br />six shareholders. The nearly 5.75-mile ditch is a carriage ditch, diverting water for irrigation
<br />purposes from the East Fork Mancos River at an approximate rate of 8.6 cfs, for an annual average
<br />of 869 acre-feet. This project was responsible for the installation of more than 30,000 feet of PVC
<br />pipeline (ranging from 10"/15" diam.), including metered delivery points. In doing so, this project
<br />increased the efficiency of the ditch while reducing salinity impacts, thereby qualifying for a grant
<br />from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).
