Kuiper, Acting Director. FROM: R. M. Gildersleeve, Deputy Director. SUBJECT: South Platte River Steering Committee. Since the October meeting of the committee, studies have been carried on by the Bureau of Reclamation and the staff of this Board which will furnish the information requested by members of the committee with regard to potential water exchanges and areas which might be served at the Narrows and Hardin reservoir sites. It is apparent that the studies must be made on the basis of river flows under present conditions and under those which will occur with future expected development of transmountain diversions, and with the Colorado -Big Thompson Project in continued full opera- tion. Since detailed analyses of daily flows are required, the studies are not yet completed, and it is felt that no good purpose would be served by calling a meeting of the committee until the facts are fully available for its consideration. Because the hy- drology involved is basic to the formulation of any plan for devel- opment in the basin, it is not anticipated that the work will cause undue delay in the completion of the final report by the Bureau of Reclamation.
