In accordance with our FERC license and the communication protocol specified in the
Administrative Plan for Managing Water Commitments (Administrative Plan) the Central
Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District and the Nebraska Public Power District (Districts)
met on October 11, 1999, and conesponded by telephone from October 12 through October 15,
1999, to discuss and predict Storable Natural Inflows. The Districts have developed the
following predictions for Storable Natural Inflows and type of year for the 2000 water year.
Item Prediction
Storable Natural Inflow, October through March 289,200 acre-feet
Storable Natural Inflow, October through April 315,800 acre-feet
Type of Year Wet
The October through April predicted natural inflow to Lake McConaughy as measured at the
Lewellen gage is 657,000 acre-feet. The Storable Natural Inflow excludes any water that can not
be stored based on FERC capacity restrictions and predicted storage contents on a month by
month basis. The type-of-year prediction was made in accordance with Section III of the EA
Document, and is based on the predicted Storable Natural Inflow for October through March of
289,200 acre-feet and the Lake McConaughy carryover contents on October 1, 1999 of
1,157,100 acre-feet.
You will be notified of any modification to this prediction that results in a change in the type of
year. Consistent with the Administrative Plan, the Districts' Annual Operations Plan will be
developed by October 31 and transmitted to you once it has been presented to both Districts'
Boa.rd of Directors.
