Consent Agenda Item l.o <br />Case No. 6-07CW 119: Application of Morrison Creek Metropolitan Water & Sanitation District <br />Application Summary <br />This is an application for changes of ground water rights, to make absolute a portion of conditional <br />water right, and finding of reasonable diligence in Routt County, approximately 15 miles south of <br />Steamboat. Applicant seeks the following: <br />1. A change of water right for Stagecoach Well No. 5 and Stagecoach Well No. 2. Well No. 5 <br />was decreed in Case No. 76W968 for 1000 gpm with an appropriation date of June 20, 1971 <br />for municipal, domestic, commercial and irrigation uses. Well No. 2 was decreed in Case <br />No. 76W965 for 200 gpm with an appropriation date of April 1, 1972 for municipal, <br />domestic, commercial and recreation uses. The proposed changes are: <br />a. A change of 100 gpm of water conditionally decreed for Stagecoach Well No. 5 to <br />Stagecoach Well No. 10, which was permitted on August 16, 2004. <br />b. A change of 80 gpm of water conditionally decreed for Stagecoach Well No. 5 to <br />Stagecoach Well No. 2, which was permitted on July 6, 1972. <br />c. A change of 100 gpm of water conditionally decreed for Stagecoach Well No. 5 to <br />Stagecoach Well No. 2R, which was permitted on September 30, 2004. <br />d. To permanently reduce the water conditionally decreed for Stagecoach Well No. 5 <br />from 1000 gpm to 720 gpm to account for transfer of 100 gpm to Well No. 10, 80 <br />gpm to Well No. 2 and 100 gpm to Well No, 2R. <br />e. To confirm 100 gpm for Stagecoach Well No. 10; 100 gpm for Stagecoach Well No. <br />2R; and a total of 120 gpm (80 + 40) for Stagecoach Well No. 2. These wells, plus <br />other wells and a conditional surface diversion from the Yampa River for 9 cfs, are <br />part of an integrated water supply system of the Morrison Creek Metropolitan Water <br />& Sanitation District. <br />£ To make absolute, in part, and for finding of reasonable diligence on remainder for <br />(a) Stagecoach Well No. 10 for 100 gpm, (b) Stagecoach Well No. 2 for 80 gpm, <br />and (c) Stagecoach Well No.2R for 100 gpm. A list of acti~~ities to date is offered <br />for a finding of reasonable diligence. <br />CWCB Appropriation <br />The CWCB holds the following instream flow water right that could be injured by this application: <br />CWCB Stream/Lake Amount Approp. Watershed County <br />Case No. cfs Date <br />6-77W1324 Little Morrison Creek 1 9/23/77 Upper Yampa Rout <br />Potential for Injury <br />The Applicant's proposed change of use could result in an expansion of use that may injure the <br />Board's instream flow water right on Little Morrison Creek. <br />Other Objectors <br />No other Statements of Opposition to this application were filed. <br />
