J

Make note that the City of Steamboat Springs is going forward with the process to apply for a Recreational In-
Stream Channel Diversion for the Yampa River through its downtown corridor. I suspect the application will be
submitted within the next month if everything falls into place. The City is also going to ask for an lnstreanl
Flow for the reach of the Yampa through downtown, along with the RISCD.

During the SWSI meeting, everyone agreed that recreational use of water should be a requirement of future
water consideration in this basin. A RISCD and Instream Flow on the Yampa through Steamboat Springs will
allow for river level stability, which will drive recreation for years to come. As we all know, river recreation is a
very important aspect of the health of our local economy and these water allocations will allow for a somewhat
stable future. Please make note of this that I am 100% behind the RlSCD and an Instream Flow for the Yampa
River through downtown Steamboat Springs.

Thanks.

...~ent Vertrees
www.blueskywest.com
(800) 288-0543, (970) 871-4260
Box 3239, 1724 Mt Werner Circle
Steamboat Springs, CO 80477
mailto: kentv@blueskywest.com

1
