Colorado House of Representatives

Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Natural Resources

Senate Bill 179

Mr. Treese:

This is the resources and meaning--mission

behind the 1177 process. And the formation of those roundtables

is to give those roundtables not only some real purpose, but

some resources to put behind their purpose. And I would hope

that you would continue with that philosophy of maintaining the

roundtables' authority to participate in the process.

The other comment--the other amendment that may be comlng

before you is on page 3, line 18, and it's simply a

clarification.

I think we tried to clarify it in the Senate to

make clear that the roundtable--the question of who or which

roundtable has to approve a project that goes forward. And we

just wanted to make clear that it's a roundtable where the

diversion or other activity would occur.

If it's a non-

structural activity, it's where that would occur. But if the

water's coming from one roundtable's geography and being used In

another roundtable's geography that, at a minimum, the sending

or exporting roundtable would be the approving roundtable.

That's the end of my testimony.

your questions.

Chairperson Curry: Mr. Treese, which number was that?

I'd be happy to answer

- 1 -
