<br />Colorado Water for the 21 st Century <br />Metro Roundtable - Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />June 13, 2007 4:00 - 5:45 PM <br />Parker Water and Sanitation District <br /> <br />Doug Scott chaired the meeting. <br /> <br />Public Comment - Don Ament reported on the status of the Three-State Agreement. <br />The program is seeking $157 million over the next 13 years and funding for this year <br />looks like it will happen. Jerry Kenney has been named as the new Executive Director. <br /> <br />John Hendrick reported that the South Metro group (Douglas County) is developing a <br />master plan. <br /> <br />Doug Scott indicated that the Ovid Reservoir group withdrew from the agenda, but it was <br />reported that they have asked for $2.5 million that will fund the project through design. <br />They have secured some state funds for the project. <br /> <br />Kelly DiNatale reported that a joint needs assessment is being developed between the <br />South Platte and Metro Roundtables. A presentation of these joint needs will be made <br />at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Doug Scott reported that two state-wide work groups are forming. These are a <br />Consumptive Use Group and a Non-consumptive Use Group. <br /> <br />Doug Scott suggested that the Metro Roundtable develop a scope of work for a proposal <br />to evaluate the unintended consequences of water conservation. <br /> <br />Doug Scott was unanimously reappointed to be the IBCC representative for the Metro <br />Roundtable. <br /> <br />Dave Kaunisto from the East Cherry Creek Valley Water and Sanitation District (ECCV) <br />provided information in support of its request to fund a pilot test for zero liquid discharge <br />treatment options. The Metro Roundtable unanimously approved his request for funding <br />the pilot study. The Metro Roundtable agreed to fund $100,000 to $175,000 of the <br />$475,000 study, with the exact amount to be determined after further consultation <br />between ECCV and Rick Brown regarding the application for State funding from the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB). The CWCB application is due in early <br />July. <br /> <br />Tom Acre was selected to attend the groundwater training session on behalf of the <br />Metro Roundtable. <br /> <br />The next meeting is scheduled for July 11 at a location to be determined. <br /> <br />Prepared by: Steve Jamieson (for Gary Thompson) <br />June 14,2007 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
