Arkansas Basin Roundtable <br />Meeting of May 9, 2007 <br /> <br />Meeting Notes <br /> <br />1. Roundtable Business <br /> <br />Chairman Hamel and other officers of the Roundtable attended a concurrent meeting of the <br />Interbasin Compact Committee held in conjunction with the Metro Roundtable. Recorder Barber <br />opened the meeting at approximately 12:30 pm. A quorum was not achieved, with 25 members <br />present, so all approvals and other business was postponed to the next regular meeting. <br /> <br />2. IBCC Reports <br />None. <br /> <br />3. Subcommittee Reports <br /> <br />A. Bylaws subcommittee. None. <br /> <br /> B. Groundwater Subcommittee. The Alluvial Aquifer Recharge conference is confirmed <br />for September 27 - 28, 2007, at the Double Tree Hotel in Colorado Springs. <br /> <br /> C. Transfers Guideline Subcommittee. Chairman Sena reported the committe e had <br />achieved closure around s ome statements and objectives. A separate report of the committee’s <br />work will be distributed. <br /> <br /> D. Needs Subcommittee. No report, committee Chairman Winner was attending <br />the IBCC as an Alternate. <br /> <br /> <br />4. SB 179 Funding Reques t s <br />Two items approved by the Round t able, Round Mountain and <br />rd <br />Fountain Creek Vision, are pending at the CWCB meeting in Montrose May 23 . <br /> <br />5. Facilitated Discussion of Needs for the Arkansas Basin. <br /> Ms. Mary Lou Smith provided a <br />facilitated discussion of the needs of the Arkansas Basin relying on the input received at the <br />April meeting. Ms. Smith organized the attendees into working groups to act as “librarians” to <br />condense and organize the many needs statements submitted. The results a re attached to the se <br />minutes. <br /> <br />The next regular meeting will be June 13, 2007 in Salida . Reed Dils provided an overview of the <br />program, which will focus on non - consumptive uses of water in the Arkansas Basin.
