The Applicant seeks a storage right for Thornton Meadows Pond for 5 AF with an <br />appropriation date of June 16,2006. Water to fill and refill the Pond will be diverted from Ohio <br />Creek and the Gunnison River via Tingley Ditch and Home Ditch, respectively. The Applicant <br />proposes to use an existing well, Main Ranch Well (Permit No. 18155-F), to supply water for <br />domestic in-house uses wi thin a 19-unit residential subdivision. Wastewater resulting from in- <br />house uses will be treated at the City of Gunnison Wastewater Treatment Plant, which is located <br />downstream on the Gunnison River. Landscape irrigation will be supplied with existing <br />irrigation water rights. The Applicant proposes to augment out-of-priority depletions associated <br />with domestic, recreational, aesthetic and fire protection uses within this development with contract <br />water obtained from the Upper Gunnison River Water Conservancy District for the delivery of2.0 <br />acre-feet annually from Blue Mesa Reservoir. (The 2 acre-feet only augments the domestic use <br />depletions and pond evaporation. In addition, the proposed augmentation plan may not be sufficient to <br />replace out-of-priority diversions to prevent injury to the Ohio Creek instream flow water right. <br /> <br />Other Obiectors <br />No other statements of opposition to this application were filed. <br />
