Parcels boundaries were digitized using UTM Zone 13, NAD83, projection from 1m 1998 USGS DOQQ images and 1m 2003 color aerial photos taken by Agro Engineering using verification for 2002 with a tasselled cap composite greenness image constructed from six 2002 Landsat satellite images. Crop types were determined using an evaluation of four sources: 1) evaluation of the tasseled gap greenness image and color aerial photos, 2) ground-truthed crop documentation from the Rio Grande Water Conservation District (RGWCD), 3) crop type probability estimates from multi-spectral classifications of a seasonal series of 8 Landsat satellite images (see final report), and 4) knowledge of regional cropping practices within division 3. The accuracy of the crop classification is 90% in areas not documented by the RGWCD and 98.6% in areas documented by the RGWCD. Well locations were provided by other RGDSS contractors and assigned using methodology descibed in final report. Ditch coverage database was provided by Agro Engineering, Inc. and assigned through a spacial union.
