It varies somewhat <br />from what economists mean when l.bey use the \\Tord Ilforecast" in that a <br />forecast is an attempt to build on present conditions with expected future <br />developments. Thus, arriving at the expected conditions in the future. <br />Another factor "hich enters into the projections in the Hissouri llasin is, <br />that with the assistance of the Office of Business Economics of the <br />Department of Connnerce and the Economic Research Service of the Department <br />of Agriculture, national projections at the three target years were made <br />and these were allocated to the various portions of the country with <br />estimates of future population, employment, and income for the Hissouri <br />Rasin being a portion of the National Projections. <br /> <br />ECONOMIC PROJECTIONS <br /> <br />For the Hissouri River Basin the population is expected to increase <br />from 7,931,000 in 1960 to 20,060,000 in 2020. <br /> <br />
