<br />TASK NO: 11 <br /> <br />Aquatic Resource Studies <br /> <br />SUBT ASK NO: 11 d <br /> <br />Macroinvertebrate Population Sampling <br /> <br />PURPOSE: <br /> <br />The purpose of this subtask is to obtain information on <br />macro invertebrate populations at locations within the study area <br />where the existing data base is inadequate or missing. <br /> <br />APPROACH: <br /> <br />During the project scoping phase, macroinvertebrate sampling <br />stations have been established within the study area boundaries, <br />and samples have been collected. Additional triplicate 0.1 square <br />meter samples will be collected in primary production areas using a <br />modified Hess sampler. Macroinvertebrates collected will be <br />identified and counted. Species diversity will be calculated and a <br />functional group analysis performed. Sampling will be conducted <br />twice a year, in the spring and fall. <br /> <br />OUTPUT: <br /> <br />Approximately one month following data collection and analysis, <br />interim reports detailing results of seasonal sampling efforts will <br />be produced.
