.e

IN'l'ERIl'\ REPORT OF JWE 1947
SECTION I _ ENGINEERING DATA

Part 2 - Streamflow Data

.

Engineering data assembled in attaohed Tables 1 to 9

inclusive disolose the total streamflow. volumes, including floods, at

each of the nine stream gaging stations, during each month, season and

water-year of the 1908-1942 study period. Quantities of water shown

in the Tables are the unconsumed outflows from the drainage basin

upstream from the gaging station. Excep~ at Canon City and Pueblo

(Tables land 2) where quantities of water imported from the Colorado

Rive~ system are also included in the reported totals, the quantities

shown in Tabs~ 1 to 9 are the total volumes of runoff produced by

natural preoipi tation upor. the up'tream drainage area, as modified by

diversions fram and return flows to the natural stream channels, and by

depletions incident to the etoraga in reservoirs and the conveyanoe of

water in river channels to the gaging station.

For purposes of explanation and discussion and for subsequent

application of dat& to engineering stUdies, the Arkansas Rive~ is herei~

divided at Caddoa into two seotions. Data for the ujEtream seotion are

tabulated for stations on the Arkansas River at Canon City, Pueblo and

La Junta, and on the Purgatoire River at its mouth near Las Animas. The

seotion downstream from Caddoa is divided at the State line between Colorado

and Kansas, into a section in Colorado fram Caddoa to the State line, which

is further divided at Lamar into sub_seotions above and below that station,

.'

.'

.8-
