Bottomland and stream terrace soils have formed in <br />mixed alluvial deposits. Large areas of wind blown loamy and silty <br />materials. along with gravelly and cobbly outwash, exist within the <br />unit delineations. They are more widespread here than in the other <br />8 units shown on the general soil map. At many places loamy and <br />gravelly materials mantle residual clayey shales to depths of 4 to 10 <br />feet.
