Genova <br />Colorado Representative to the <br />Arkansas River Compact Administration <br />33032 South Road <br />Pueblo, CO 81006 <br /> <br />Re: Appointment to ARCA <br /> <br />Dear Carl: <br /> <br />I much enjoyed renewing acquaintances at the ARCA Annual Meeting last <br />December and working with you and Jim on the complex issues presented there. I had <br />looked forward to continuing to serve with you and Jim, but recently discovered that <br />both of your four year appointments expire on August 16, 1993. I am also saddened <br />to learn that you are considering not seeking reappointment. While I understand the <br />many demands on your time, I hope you will consider lending your many talents to the <br />State of Colorado in this important capacity at least until the current litigation with <br />Kansas is concluded. Your leadership and statesman-like approach to representing <br />water users in your area and the interests of the state as whole have been important <br />factors in our success to-date with the Special Master. <br /> <br />I do need to begin the appointment process soon to avoid any gap in <br />representation on ARCA during these critical times. If you believe you can serve for <br />at least part of another four year term I am quite certain that Governor Romer would <br />gratefully reappoint you.
