(n) Whenever the board of directors of any metl'opolitan wateL' dis- <br />trict incorporated under this act shall, by ordinance adopted by a vote "of a <br />majority of the aggl'cgate number of \'otes of all the members of the board of <br />directors, determine that the interests of ~aid distl'ict and the public interest or <br />necessity demand the acquisition. construction 01' completion of any public im- <br />provement 01' works. or the incurring (If any preliminary eXpen::;es, necessary or <br />convenient to carry out the objcct~ ai' purpo8es of said district the cost of which <br />will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income and revenue uf <br />the district, said board of directors may order the submission of the proposition <br />of incurring bonded indebtedness, for the purposes set forth in the said ordi- <br />nance, to the qualified voters of such district, at an election held for that purpose. <br />Any election held for the purpose of submitting any proposition or propositions <br />of incurring such bonded indebtedness may be held sepal'ately, 01' may be <br />consolidated or held concurrently with any other election authorized by ]a,... at <br />which the qualified e]ectOl's of the district are entitled to vote. The declaration <br />of public interest 01' necessity hel"ein required and the pl'ovision for the holding <br />of such election may be included within one and the same ordinance, which <br />ordinance, in additioll to such declaration of public interest or necessity, shall <br />recite the objects and purposes for which the indebtedness is proposed to be <br />incurred, the estimated cost of the public wOI'ks or imp"twements, or the esti- <br />mated amount of preliminarj' expenses, as the case may be, the amount of the <br />principal of the indebtednes:; to be incurred therefor and the maximum rate of <br />interest to be paid on such indebtedness, which rate shall not exceed six (6) per <br />cent per anllum payable sE'miannunll;y, Such oreJinance shall also fix the date upon <br />which such election shall be held and the manner of holding the same and the <br />method of voting for or against incurring the proposed indebtedness. Such ordi. <br />nance shall abo fix the compensation to be paid the officers of the election and <br />shall design[lte the precincts and polling" place~ and shall appoint the officers of <br />such election, which officers shall consist of one inspector, one judge and two <br />clerks in each precinct. The description of precincts Illay be made by reference <br />to any order or orders of the bou,'d of supervisors of the county or counties in <br />which the district 01' any part thereof is situated, or by reference to any previous <br />order 01' ordinance of the legi'i'llative body of the municipality, or by detailed <br />description of such precincts, Precincts established by the boards of supervisors <br />of the various counties, to a numbel' not exceeding six (G) may b~ consolidated <br />for special elections held her~l1nder. In the event any bond election shall be <br />called to be held concurrently with any other election 01" :;hull be con:-:iolidated <br />there\'...ith, the ordinance calling the election hereunder need not designate pre. <br />cincts or polling places or the names of officers of election, but shall contain <br />reference to the act or order calling such other election and fixing the precincts <br />and polling places and appointing election officers therefor. <br /> <br />(b) The ordinance provided for in subdivision (a) of this section shall be <br />published once, at lea!:it ten (10) days before the date of the election therein <br />called, in a newspaper of general circulation printed and published within the <br />district, and no other or further notice of such election 01' publication of the <br />names of election officers or of the precincts or polling places need be gi\"en <br />or made. <br /> <br />(c) The respective election boards shall conduct the election in tht;'ir respec- <br />tive precinct8 in the nw.mler prescribed by law for the holding of general <br />elections, and shall make their l'etUl'ns to the secretary of the district, At any <br />regular 01' special meeting of the board of director:; held not earlier than five <br />
