Reclamation would participate and/or assist in the <br />subsequent NEP A compliance as appropriate. <br /> <br />When fully operational and under full Project average annual demand, 80, 100 acre-feet of <br />diversion, either from Durango Pumping Plant or by direct diversion from the Animas or San <br />Juan Rivers, would take place. Return flows from the M&I use would occur in the Animas, <br />San Juan, and La Plata Rivers resulting in an average annual depletion of 57, 100 acre-feet to <br />the San Juan River, meeting the conditions of the 1996 RP A. <br /> <br />As shown on table 3, mean and maximum monthly flows of the Animas River would be <br />reduced moderately from historical conditions. However, the minimum historical recorded <br />flows would be increased slightly because of return flows from Durango, Durango Rural, and <br />Districts' use of the M&I water. Additionally, the Animas River would be supplemented <br />below its confluence with Basin Creek during periods oflow flow by releases from Ridges <br />Basin Reservoir as a result ofM&I needs in New Mexico. <br /> <br />25 <br />
