<br />Location.--water-stage recorder, lat 33003'54", long 107012'22n, in SW\ sec. 25, T. 13 S., R. 4 W.,
<br />(projected) in Pedro Armendariz Grant, 1.0 mile downstream from dam and 1.5 miles upstream from
<br />Cuchillo NegrO River. Datum of gage is 4,242.09 ft above mean sea level, datum of 1929. Prior
<br />to April 23, 1942, at several different sites and datums.
<br />Drainaqe" area.--29,450 sq mi, approximately (includes 2,940 sq mi in closed basin in San Luis
<br />Valley, Colo.).
<br />Averaqe discharge.--73 years (1915-87), 999 ft3js (723,800 acre-ft per year).
<br />Extremes.--1915-87: Maximum daily discharge, 8,220 ft3js May 22, 1942; no flow at times prior to
<br />1929 and March 2-4, 1979.
<br />Remarks.--Records good. Flow regulated by Elephant Butte Reservoir. Diversions for irrigation of
<br />about 800,000 acres above station.
