The Mile column gives the number of miles the delivery point is
downstream'from Siphon Drop. A.F. Diverted shows the acre-feet delivered at
each delivery point. A.F. Miles are generated by multiplying the Mile colUMn
value by the number of acre-feet delivered, giving a volume-distance weighted
quantity. The A.F. Loss is computed by multiplying the ratio of the acre-feet
miles for the delivery point to the total acre-feet miles at the bottom of the
A.F. Miles column by the total system loss. The operative assumption here is
that the seepage loss is a function of the distance the water flows only. The
number of acre-feet diverted at Siphon Drop for each delivery point is then
the loss chargeable to the particular delivery plus the delivery itself (A.F.
Diverted + A.F. Loss).

Lines 8 throuah Line 24 - To complete an already-slOt-up spreadsheet, data need
only be entered in the A.F. Diverted column. Data for Lines 8 through 24 are
supplied by Bard Water District. Data for monthly entries have been FAXED to
this office before the 15th of each month. Delivery points on the FAX are
identified by the mile number. A yearly summary is provided by YFO for Lines
8 through 22 on Form No. YFQ-116h. Rev. 5/86. and for Lines 23 and 24 on Form
No. YPO-116g, Rev. 8-85, in the yearly hydrographic tabulations (YPO Reports).
Delivery points 3.13. YPO data for diversions along the Yuma ~ain Canal ~ay be summed and
compared to the values listed by the USGS on the monthly provisional and
yearly reports for USGS station 09524500 to check for consistency. USGS takes
these data from Bard Water Dis~ict also.

Lines 25 and 26 - Lines 25 and 26 show the total acre-feet diverted at Siphon
Drop for the Indian and Bard Units.

Line 27 - The entry on this line is the same as the entry on
Line 2 in the A.F. Diver~ed column.

Lines 28 and 29 - Values for monthly entries are prOvided on the monthly FAX.
For Use on ~early compu~ations. a yearly summary is also provided by YPO on

6

,
-'
