Confirmation of a decision by the US Fish
and Wildlife, the USGS, and Reclamation to es~ablish the consump~ive use of
the Cibola National Wildlife Refuge at 5,000 acre-feet per year was given in a
telephone conversation by Wes Mar~in or us Fish and Game to LC-437. No
documen~ation to support this has yet been found. Currently, the pumpages
reported by the USGS are being used as the diversions.

ImDerial National Wildlife Refuae - The Imperial Wildlife refuge had been
diverting Colorado River wa~er for Use on the Refuge from ~wo wells. In a
telephone conversation with Mr. Will Nidecker, Refuge Manager, Mr. Nidecker
indicated that ColoradO River wa~er is presently being diverted to the refuge
by direct PUlllping from the Colorado R.iver.
