Also included will be the enlargement Df <br /> <br />the then existing Pueblo Reservoir, to 800,000 acre feet and the <br /> <br />enlargemedt of the now existing Horse Creek Reservoir. <br /> <br />The Comprehensive Plan proposal consists of the construction <br /> <br />of the Blue Mesa, Gateview, Cebolla, Graneros, Cedarwood and Ben <br /> <br />Butler Reservoirs, together with canals and a pumping system from <br /> <br />Blue Mesa to Cabin Creek, a gravity tunnel from Cabin Creek to <br /> <br />Almont Reservoir, tunnels and canals from Texas Creek to GranerDs <br /> <br />Reservoir, a canal from Graneros ReservDir to Cedarwood Reservoir, <br /> <br />and canals from Ben Butler Reservoir to the Arkansas River by way <br /> <br />of the Huerfano River Valley. <br /> <br />The generation of electrical energy by the construction of <br /> <br />power plants at strategic locations will be in additiDn to the <br /> <br />diversion of water for irrigation. <br /> <br />It is estimated by the Bureau that an average amount of 60,000 <br />acre feet of water per annum will be diverted by Initial Develop- <br /> <br />ment. An additional 595,000 acre feet will be &Y&i1able from the <br /> <br />Maximum Gravity Diversion and in the Comprehensive Plan, a total of <br /> <br />990,000 acre feet will be available. <br /> <br />The Initial Development consists of water storage reservoirs, <br /> <br />canals, tunnels, pumping plants, power plants and power distri- <br /> <br />but ion lines. <br /> <br />4 <br />
