'"
,,,..

t",

Wildlife wetland habitat and wildlife upland habitat management
assistance would be augmented by cost-sharing installation. Wetlands
influenced by onfam water managlllll4mt are located below the irrigated
fields and adjacent to Virgin River. About ten acres or riparian wet-
land habitat would be enhanced by increued flow of Virgin River. H0w-
ever, a net wetland loss would occur immediately below the irrigated
fields due ~o reduced return flow and deep percolation. This alternative
would have no measurable impact on the woulcifin fish in Virgin River.
See Appendix A. Fish Rabitat. Upland wildlife habitat area improved
would have a 16 acra-value.

Land modification would not result from repair of the irrigation
delivery system, so that cultural resources would not be disturbed.

,.

Monitoring of program effectiveness is included in the technical
assistance and automation costs. Installation of shallow wells to observe
and measure groundwater for quality and quantity is a part of the pro-
posed program. Collection of ground water data at the proposed Riverside,
Nevada WPRS barrier project is assumed to continue.

44

OOG3C3
