<br />Irrigation Systems and Practices <br /> <br />There are eight separate irrigation diversions and distribution <br />systemS supplying river water to 3,525 irrigated acres in Virgin Valley. <br />Five of these systems are in the Littlefield, Arizona area. The other <br />three serve Mesquite, Bunkerville and Riverside, Nevada areas. The <br />systems consist of lined and unlined ditches. The condition of the <br />distribution systems range from poor to good. There are no reservoirs <br />for storage. Figures 7,8,9 and 10 show the location of irrigated land <br />in the study area. <br /> <br />Littlefield - The five small distribution systems in the Littlefield <br />(and Lower Beaver D8111 Wash) area supply water to farmlands along the <br />north and south banks of Virgin River near the town of Littlefield, <br />Arizona. There are two organized systems, (Eastside and Wests ide Irriga- <br />tion companie~ that provide water for 435 acres (see Figure 7).
