-
'n.o_~_ 'ftj.'" ~.'<_

.

~
~

~

There were no salary increases for the classified, or annually
paid employees during the year, other than periodic "Ramspeck"
increases.

Because of the sound financial basis upon which the Boulder
Canyon Project was conceived and is being operated. there seems
to be no reason to look ahead with any apprehension whatever. The
power contracts guarantee the full return of the costs of project op-
eration until 1987, and provide also for amortization of the advances
to the Colorado River Dam Fund, on sound formulae prescribed, as
well as for replacements of the properties. These contracts are all
with power allottees of unquestionable financial responsibility.

.1~ I/kad

During the approaching months, three additional generating
units, aggregating a total generating capacity of 215, 000 KW will be
placed in service. It is not because of any lack of planning that these
new units will probably not result in any higher production or in-
creased revenues, since these are basically influenced by avail-
ability of water each year, except as they might help to reduce
unproductive spills or releases of water, such as last occurred in
1941. Rather, these units will enable the project to better supply
the needs and requirements of the allottees who requested their in-
stallation and Who are undertaking the obligation of their amortiza-
tion, replacement, and operating costs.

!;
i'
,
I'
':+,

I'
I
1'1
"
,;;,'
'Ii
,Ii!
j'!'

i
I

The coming mooths will also see further aggressive action toward
solution d the perplexing Boulder City problem. We are looking to-
ward a gradual transition from a Government-owned and controlled
town to a normal, self-governed community.

i':'>
~:Jl
,I'
jl.t
d,~
fl::
Hi
~,_il;
h
,~t..
.I'i'
','li
i ,1r~
!f

:)i

,
I'
,Ii
'I'
f
