The following 32 plans provide for the substitution or exchange
of water for Wellton-Mohawk or other drainage water which would
be bypassed directly into the Santa Clara Slough rather than
returned to the Colorado River. In plans where the plant
production would be eliminated, some drainage inflows (mostly
pumped drainage from the South Gila Pump Outlet Channels) in
addition to the pumped drainage from Wellton-Mohawk would a190 be
pumped to the Bypass Drain. The intent of these plans is to
reduce or eliminate YDP production. The substitute water would
be delivered to Mexico in lieu of desalted drainage water.
Table 3 summarizes the estimated yields of substitute water for
each plan.
